In the form of Retinol, these peels are great for a variety of purposes. These include brightening of the skin, reducing discolouration, reducing acne and scarring, decreasing lines and wrinkles and treating sun damaged skin.
Available as 4% or 6% Retinol, the peel consists of a variety of extracts, such as Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract, which works as a skin calming antioxidant. Other properties of the peel include fighting of free radical damage, promotion of a clear complexion and detoxification. Another important ingredient of the peel is Tocopherol (Vitamin E), which acts as an antioxidant and a source of topical oxygen to purify the skin.
Your skin is assessed prior to treatment and a medical history is taken. Assessment involves looking for any existing conditions, most of which can be treated for and using the Fitzpatrick classification chart to assess sensitivity of your skin. It is ensured that there are no contraindications beforehand. The procedure takes around 10 minutes. After care advice is given during the consultation. Clients can expect peeling of the skin for a few days after treatment, to reveal new skin. Treatment can be repeated after 4-6 weeks.
